Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.



CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense TS/SCI with Poly security clearance is required within a reasonable time after being hired. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

As an Undersea Advanced Information System Security Engineer (ISSE), you’ll participate in Information System Security tasking and Systems Engineering tasks (requirements analysis, functional and performance analysis, system design, trade studies, etc). What you’ll experience:

  • Design, engineer, test, implement, deploy, maintain, review, and administer the infrastructure hardware, software, and documentation that are required to effectively manage Information System and Network defense resources.
  • Design, develop, and implement specific security countermeasures or solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities identified during assessments and/or inspections.
  • Monitor the environments to actively remediate configuration issues and/or unauthorized activities.

What you bring to the table:


  • Ability to mentor and assist systems engineers regarding cybersecurity requirements for DoD
  • Self-starter, works with little instruction
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering concepts, principles and theories
  • CISSP, CASP, CCLP or ITIL intermediate
  • Security+ and CISSP or CASP or CSSLP
  • Shall meet the Minimum Credential requirements for a JOURNEYMAN Proficiency Level for Specialty Area SECURELY PROVISION – ARCHITECTURE (65)
  • Shall have 5+ years of experience in systems engineering practices for systems and technologies deployed across a multi-platform (Windows, *nix, etc.) enterprise-grade Wide Area Network (WAN).
  • Shall have 3+ years of experience in Information Security (INFOSEC) operations, practices, and guidance.

  • Experience with DISA STIGs, SHB, HBSS, ACAS, SCC and other common DoD tools/guides
  • Experience with classified systems
  • Experience with common security tools such as Nessus, Splunk, and other SEIM products

Preferred degree types and experience:


  • A Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, IT, CS, Cyber security or a related specialized area or field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • CISSP-ISSEP/ISSAP or ITIL Expert
  • CISSP-ISSEP/ISSAP or CCSP
  • Qualification Requirements for a MASTER Proficiency Level for Specialty Area SECURELY PROVISION -ARCHITECTURE (65)
  • 4+ years of experience base-lining secure configurations for a multi-platform infrastructure in accordance with (IAW) the latest published DISA STIGs.
  • Strong background and experience in designing, developing, and implementing engineered solutions in secure enterprise Operating Environments (OEs) on Microsoft technologies and Network Environments (NEs) on Cisco technologies.
  • Familiar with virtualization and containers
  • Familiar with common operating systems including: Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, Cisco IOS etc.
  • Agile understanding/experience
