Bashor Children’s Home is looking for a dynamic, energetic, House Manager (Unit Manager) to join an exceptional team of professionals in the residential setting. The right candidate will lead a direct care team committed to providing evidence-based practices in a program milieu for treatment.

The ideal Unit Manager will have:


  • A bachelor’s degree in a human services field, required.
  • A high level of professional integrity and experience. Ideally, he or she will have significant experience working directly with people in need and managing or supervising others in the human services field.
  • An ability to build morale and aid in the development of a healthy team.
  • A commitment to education and professional development.
  • An ability to complete tasks in a timely and thorough manner, and an ability to write well, including performance evaluations, monthly treatment team reports, and minutes.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead and plan activities, facilitate positive and meaningful meetings, and maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • A mastery of positive reinforcement techniques, an ability to be direct and specific with feedback, and a facility with progressive discipline and other management tools.

Responsibilities for the Unit Manager include:

  • Train, manage, and provide ongoing supervision of a diverse and dynamic team of youth care professionals
  • Oversee the direct care of youth.
  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional service by developing schedules and programs, by organizing transportation to and from appointments and therapeutic recreation outings, and by working closely with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Develop teamwork across shifts, schedules, and programs; model excellence and professionalism as a direct care provider for youth and families; and work cooperatively with an exceptional team of house managers.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for youth and families.

Schedule: Unit Managers work at least two evenings, including one weekend day per week, in order to support direct care professionals across shifts and schedules.


*This position is full-time, hourly, and requires flexibility. Generally, house managers work 3-morning shifts and 2 evening shifts per week, with either Friday/Saturday or Sunday/Monday off.



Salary Range: $20.83 – $25.15/ hour
