The Food Runner/Busser position is essential to restaurant operations and guarantees efficient service as well as a clean and welcoming dining environment for guests to enjoy. This position will interact with both culinary and service staff and guests, so excellent communication skills and the desire to deliver exceptional customer service are a must.

Essential Job Responsibilities:


  • Prompt and accurate delivery of food and drink orders to appropriate tables, making certain the correct items are delivered to the right guests.
  • Communicate with guests to ensure a satisfactory experience and address any immediate needs or concerns, relaying feedback to service or culinary staff.
  • Answer guest questions regarding menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens.
  • Quickly and efficiently clear dirty dishes, glassware, and utensils from tables.
  • Dispose of food waste, liquids, and recyclable, and landfill trash items in the proper bins.
  • Promptly sanitize tables to prepare for incoming guests.
  • Keep dining areas clean and organized, spot-cleaning floors when necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with all restaurant staff to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Follow health and safety regulations and restaurant policies.
  • Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays.

Qualifications/Knowledge:


  • Previous experience in a restaurant is a plus.
  • Must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Food Handler Certification upon hire.
  • Must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Alcohol Server Certification upon hire.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to communicate in a positive and productive manner while performing duties.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Work Environment:

Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during holidays and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.



Physical Demands of Position Include:

Will often lift and carry up to 25 pounds and may team-lift up to 50 pounds. 90-100% of the time will be spent standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling. Occasionally sitting – less than 15% of the time.



Background Check:

Positions dealing with children, of a safety-sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
