Job Summary

The WordPress Developer Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining websites using the WordPress platform. Working in collaboration with other members of the Technology and Marketing teams, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in achieving the organization’s goals by delivering high-quality websites that meet the company’s needs. In this role, the candidate will be expected to optimize the performance, functionality, and user experience of the websites.



Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain WordPress plugins and themes;
  • Ensure high performance and availability, and manage all technical aspects of the CMS;
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices;
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the blog and/or website is optimized for usability and performance;
  • Maintaining security and optimizing the existing code;
  • Integrate third-party APIs to enhance website functionality;
  • Conduct regular site audits to identify areas for improvement and optimization;
  • Responsible for both back-end and front-end development;
  • Comply with data protection and privacy regulations, ensuring adherence to best practices in website management;
  • Promote a culture of partnership, teamwork, innovation and diversity, equity, and inclusion;
  • Participate in a highly collaborative, customer-centred, data-driven culture that challenges norms with a bias for action and defending it; supports the diversity of thought, experiences, and approaches to problem-solving.
  • Duly observe all applicable health and safety laws and regulations.


Qualifications & Skills
  • Degree (or equivalent) preferred, ideally in Computer Science or equivalent experience;
  • At least 3 years of experience in WordPress development;
  • Solid knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript;
  • Working knowledge with AWS Elastic Beanstalk, S3 and Cloud front is a plus;
  • A good understanding of relational databases, in particular MySQL, is a plus;
  • Experience with responsive and adaptive design is preferred;
  • Experience with Frontend Web frameworks like React.js, Ember.js is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to seamlessly collaborate with several different teams;
  • A technical mindset with great attention to detail;
  • Passion for education and learning;
  • Evident fluency in the English Language, being confident in speaking, reading and writing communication.
