We are currently recruiting for an experienced Radiology (X-ray) Technologist to join a hospital setting in the Chicago area. Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiology Technologist to perform X-ray procedures in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnostic imaging, proficiency with X-ray equipment, and a strong understanding of patient care protocols. The position is for a 12-week contract with the possibility of extension, offering a competitive hourly rate and the chance to work in a state-of-the-art medical facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Position patients for optimal imaging results while ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Operate X-ray equipment, ensuring proper calibration and maintenance.
- Assist with patient preparation, explain procedures, and answer questions regarding the imaging process.
- Review images for quality and clarity, collaborating with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnosis.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document all procedures.
- Follow all safety standards, radiation protection protocols, and infection control procedures.
- Collaborate with medical staff, including physicians, nurses, and technologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or equivalent.
- Valid state licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in Illinois.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in X-ray (radiology) in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures to patients and their families.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing high-quality care.
