JOB DUTIES

Primary Responsibilities.

  • Installs, troubleshoots and repairs heating, air conditioning, hot-side, and refrigeration units
  • Troubleshoots malfunctioning heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems to determine the cause of the malfunction
  • Performs scheduled maintenance inspections, and adjusts, cleans, and calibrates various systems to assure proper system operations
  • Repairs wiring and electronic components.
  • Replaces expansion valves, compressors, motors, bearings, coil units, and other component parts
  • Cleans refrigerant systems from enclosed burnouts, evacuates, and charges systems
  • Troubleshoots and repairs direct digital and pneumatic control systems
  • Checks distribution systems for proper velocity, volume, temperature, pressure, etc.
  • Determines cause of and corrects condensation problems
  • Knowledge of VFD’s, VAV’s, motor controls, etc. Must possess the following: Ability to troubleshoot and program VFD’s. Understanding of chilled water cooling, electrical and treated water heating system, fan coils, air handlers, and ductwork.
  • Training and supervising work of other technicians and staff in preventative maintenance of HVAC systems
  • Prepares records and reports describing procedures, actions taken, and recommended solutions
  • Responds to emergency service requests
  • Knowledge of pertinent rules and regulations, guidelines, safety orders, departmental operating procedures and safety regulations sufficient to ensure that work is performed in compliance with applicable law.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT


The physical/mental demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Physical Demands:


  • May work in confined areas.
  • Exposed to hot and cold temperatures.
  • Exposed to varied weather conditions, fumes and chemicals used in maintenance.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Physical Conditions- stand and walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands to arms; balance; stoop, kneel, bend or crouch; climb, and talk and hear.

Mental Demands:

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in a brightly lit, smoke-filled casino environment with above average noise levels.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • EPA and/or NATE certification,
  • Must have a minimum of GED education, preferably a high school diploma and or trade school education.
  • 3 + years working hands on within commercial refrigeration, commercial HVAC, and Commercial Kitchen Equipment.
  • Valid Driver’s License with good driving history
  • Must be able to pass drug test and background check.
  • Must have a great work ethic, strong communication skills along with excellent organizational and time management skills.


Job Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of OSHA required standards and safety requirements. Knowledge of personal protective equipment.
  • Advanced to expert level of knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, and other projects relating to maintenance of the property.
  • Ability to use all necessary tools and power equipment to perform maintenance functions including, computer / keyboard and telephone.


Other:

  • Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions and building plans in English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and all levels of employees.
  • Must be able to receive and maintain all required certification.
  • Must complete all required company training.
