The University of Evansville (UE), a member of the Missouri Valley Conference, invites applications for the Head Coach position for the Women’s Volleyball program. The University of Evansville seeks a candidate whose experience will contribute as the leader of these programs to the University’s overall mission and vision of the University.
About the Position
This position leads and directs an intercollegiate NCAA Division I volleyball program and duties include, but are not limited to, effective programmatic vision; planning and implementation; recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes; supervision of assistant coaches; development of strong relationships with student-athletes, faculty, and staff; practice planning and preparation; practice and meet coaching; camp business development and operation; community service coordination; sound business and financial management; fundraising; and other duties as assigned.
The Head Coach will perform all duties in compliance within University, NCAA and Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) rules and regulations.
Position Responsibilities

  • Sport Administration: Provide practice and meet planning, implementation, and assessment, including, but not limited to, schedule management, athletic participation and support services, facilities, marketing, and promotion, in close collaboration with other colleagues and service providers.
  • Roster Management: -Lead the recruitment of student-athletes who demonstrate the potential to be successful academically and by competing in the women’s volleyball program. -Manage the allocation of athletic scholarships with the other University financial aid offerings so that the volleyball program can maximizing the competitiveness of the program. -Enhance the student-athlete experience to maximize the retention of the student- athletes in the program.
  • Academic Oversight: Mentor and monitor the academic success of the student-athletes.
  • Finance: Budget Planning, Fiscal Management, and Travel Coordination: Provide sound business and financial management in areas including but not limited to expenses, operating budgets, procurement of goods, services, and equipment while also organizing and supervising all team-related travel.
  • Compliance/Certification: Ensure compliance with national, local, university, NCAA, Missouri Valley Conference, regulations, standards and codes.
  • Supervision: Recruit, supervise, train, and evaluate assistant coaching staff.
  • Fundraising: Spearhead fundraising efforts to support programmatic needs and enhancements. Build strong relationships with the Evansville volleyball community.

    Position Requirements


    Bachelor’s degree preferred. Collegiate volleyball coaching experience required.
