Are you a Support Engineer or Systems Administrator with experience in Amazon Web Services, Active Directory, security, and Windows system management? Can you help build and automate solutions that empower customers and reduce support costs? If the answer to these questions is YES, then the AccSys team at Amazon.com wants to talk to you.

The AccSys team’s mission is to deliver robust, highly available, and easy-to-use services to our internal customers across the global enterprise. We are looking for an engineer who is an expert in IT infrastructure technologies with a focus on Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, Java, Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, Amazon Web Services, and assorted Third-Party applications. As a Support Engineer you will help design and build the future of physical security systems infrastructure at Amazon while maintaining the current global infrastructure. To be successful in this position you must have a strong desire to automate, lead, and be comfortable taking initiative.



You will be responsible for implementation of, documenting, monitoring and maintaining the critical systems that all Amazonians depend on. This also includes technical service ownership, system design, capacity planning, and handling on-call technical support. As one of the few teams running enterprise Windows systems at Amazon there will be initiatives to create novel solutions to issues that no other company has solved yet.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


– Minimum 2 years relevant work experience in a Systems Engineering, Systems Administration or Support Engineering role in a Software Development team.
– 2 or more years of experience supporting enterprise applications in a cloud environment.
– Demonstrable experience with AWS cloud technologies.
– Demonstrated ability to program to solve problems and automate repetitive tasks in a common scripting or programming language such as Python, JavaScript, Java.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


– Experience administrating Windows and Linux-based systems.
– Demonstrable experience of writing syntactically correct and efficient SQL queries.
– 2+ years supporting web-based applications using JavaScript, Python and AWS Cloud Technologies.
– Experience supporting highly-scalable globally-distributed systems.
