Saban Community Clinic

Saban Community Clinic is seeking a part time Psychiatrist.

This position works 1 day per week. Two of the days per month may be worked remotely.



Duties and Responsibilities:

• Examines patients with mental health issues to obtain medical history, assess, analyze, evaluate, diagnose
and treat them; orders laboratory and other diagnostic tests and evaluates patient data and test findings to
diagnose nature and extent of mental disorder and physical condition.


• Assesses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of psychotherapy, psychoanalysis,
hospitalization, and medication; designs individualized treatment plans; evaluates results of treatment and
adjusts treatments as appropriate.

• Prescribes, directs, and administers psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional,
or behavioral disorders; counsels patients on diet, hygiene and preventive health care.


• Performs/supervises functions, duties and services in compliance with regulatory agencies, contractual
obligations and funding sources such as CHDP, EWC, Medi-Cal, FPACT, and Title X.

• Collaborates with other physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers and other professionals to discuss
treatment plans and progress.


• Oversees the maintenance of records/documents in accordance with clinic policies and procedures,
contractual obligations, regulations and funding sources

• Practice cost-effective medicine by monitoring appropriate use of practitioner laboratory and prescription
utilization in line with Clinic preferred laboratory and drug formulary.


Position Requirements:

• A valid license to practice medicine in the State of California, with no pending or previous disciplinary action
from any state licensing entity


• Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry
• Current DEA license and BCLS certificate
• Competency in evaluating and treating mental health patients
• Working knowledge of state-of-the-art medical/psychiatric scientific and treatment methods
• Understanding of current medical, educational and psychosocial intervention procedures
• Candidate who is Bilingual (Spanish/Russian/Armenian/Tagalog) is preferable.
• Covid-19 vaccination required as a condition of employment as required by State law.
