Shift/Schedule: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)


GENERAL SUMMARY

Works under the supervision of the Employment Manager. The Recruiter’s primary job function is to recruit, screen, and interview candidates to fill professional, technical and service positions, and coordinate recruitment and retention relationship activities.


QUALIFICATIONS


Education:

  • High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required with courses in Human Resources Administration preferred
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred


Licensure:

  • None


Experience:

  • Two years related experience preferred.

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS


The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Reviews and screens applications on posted jobs. Schedules and conducts screening interviews, informing applicants about position, salary, benefits, and opportunities at SOMC.
  2. Matches applicant’s qualifications with job specifications after screening. Refers qualified candidates to prospective hiring managers within SOMC.
  3. Performs reference checks, verifies credentials, makes offer of employment, and coordinates physical examinations, criminal backgrounds, pay quotes, and schedules orientation of selected candidates.
  4. Assists Manager in the administration of the application tracking system (updates and maintains the on-line posting process).
  5. Actively participates in various professional recruitment activities (i.e., college contacts, high school resources, job fairs, etc).
  6. Actively participates in external recruitment relationship projects (i.e. Career Camps).
  7. Coordinates long term and short-term recruitment, retention, and forecasting strategies as decided by the Human Resources Department and through partnership with the Department Director/Manager.
  8. Prepares and records accurate documentation of hiring activities to support justification of selection and non-selection, transfer notices, status change, rejection notices, pay calculation, date offered.
  9. Conducts 30 day post hire survey.
  10. Assists candidates with online application process. Troubleshoots issues with candidates’ online application as needed.
  11. Provides information, guidance and direction to employee, job applicants and students who have questions regarding Healthcare careers.
  12. Keeps Employment Manager updated on a regular basis regarding the nursing activities that involve HR.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.
