The Exploration Reservoir Engineer is a unique role involved with new play identification, entry strategy, and resource progression from exploration to development. They will be part of a multi-discipline team focused on exploration and early appraisal projects within the Mid-Continent. They will be responsible for performing complex economic and planning analysis of new reserves. They must collaborate with the team in identifying and reducing associated risks. Preferred candidates will have had exposure to subsurface diagnostic techniques, reservoir and total petroleum system modeling, drilling and completions operations. Due to the nature of this role an integrated mindset across disciplines will be an important part of the candidates success.

  • Work with multi-discipline team to understand subsurface characterization and risks of exploration and early appraisal projects
  • Assist team in data planning, gathering, and analysis to reduce risks surrounding new play concepts
  • Experience preferred with one or more of the following: risk analysis, PVT, completion diagnostics, geophysical attributes, data analytics, and numerical modeling
  • Prepare comprehensive risked economic analyses, decision trees, and modeling for capital projects and full field development
  • Assist team with planning lease acquisitions, appraisal, and development strategies
  • Leads team in making appropriately risked business recommendations on projects by developing and evaluating detailed scenarios articulating the range of outcomes
  • Leads team in setting risked economic expectation levels on projects
  • Participate in long range business planning by preparing production volume forecasts and capital projections
  • Conduct and provide economic analysis to determine the cost/benefit for potential divestiture and acquisitions of properties
  • Analyze well reserve levels for economic value analysis and company reporting requirements according to established schedules
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks
  • Assume additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed
  • Reviews and evaluates new products working with vendors, consultants and internal stakeholders
  • Mentors less experienced employees


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Geosciences


EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in oil and gas reservoir practices

  • Intermediate Level computer skills
