Summary

Responsible for the delivery of patient care in their area of specialty through the process of assessment; evaluation; diagnosing; recognition and prevention of adverse event; planning; and implementation. Performs responsibilities in four areas of practice: clinician, teacher, leadership and professional development. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe; effective and efficient patient care delivery; and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Continuously monitors quality patient care through excellence in customer service and performance improvement that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Provides leadership in the practice location. Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA) are required to function consistent with Florida Law. The Advanced Provider I practices in ONE place of service, usually outpatient but could be inpatient. Provides treatment for less urgent acute conditions as well as manages chronic conditions and provides care coordination. Patients are usually seen by appointment. May work evenings & weekends and provide practice call coverage. Usually works with a physician readily available.

BLS is required. ACLS may be required as identified/area of specialty. Certification by the America College of Nurse-Midwifes (ACNM) and American Certification Council (ACC) is required for Nurse Midwives.
