Pricing Intern

Project Description:

• The ideal candidate will be able to assist with the development of regulatory projects and execution of regulatory case filings before the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission and the Public Utilities Commission of Texas. Example of regulatory projects include rate cases, certificates of need, investigations, compliance filings, and tariff and pricing proposals.
• An intern in this position will learn how to use advanced data analytic tools including Databricks, Python, R, SQL, GitLab, and Excel. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining tools to highlight trends in customer energy consumption and ensure the company is earning sufficient revenue according to currently approved tariffs. This position will coordinate the development and improvement of pricing processes to ensure effective pricing and compliance with business requirements.

This position is for a May 2025 or sooner if needed. These positions may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel’s business needs.

Minimum Requirements

• Current student, Sophomore or Junior status.
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in computer engineering, computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, accounting, data science.
• Able to commute to the office in Amarillo, Texas.
• Able to work full-time during the summer on a Hybrid model.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3.5 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale) or higher
• Experience or Proficiency with data analytics tools ( Python, R, SQL)

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $18.40 to $20.40 per hour

This position is eligible for the following benefits: Pension, 401(k) plan, Paid time off (PTO), Holidays
