How will you make an impact:
The Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering leads the Manufacturing Engineering team within the Systems Operations Organization. Our factory produces low-volume, high complexity dual-beam electron microscopy systems for semiconductor designers and manufacturers to use in the creation and improvement of their products. The team supports the introduction of new EM products into the factory and field as well as the ongoing improvement of products and the processes used to manufacture and service them.
What will you do?
- Manage a team of 20+ engineers supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), Sustaining and Obsolescence phases of the product lifecycle.
- Identify, develop and implement strategic level improvements.
- Develops successful teams and guides team members’ professional and technical development by goal setting, mentoring and providing challenges for further growth.
- Maintains engineering technical proficiencies that support projected business roadmaps.
- May lead complex projects as required.
- Collaborate with Global Technical Support and Product Lifecycle Management teams to identify, prioritize and complete external project requests.
- Participates in local Operations Management team and collaborates with the Global Engineering team.
- Ensures that all engineering department goals are completed according to globally accepted standard processes, company strategy, vision and policy.
- Using Practical Process Improvements (PPI), drive continuous improvement projects to engineering and manufacturing processes.
Education
University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or a combination of technical education and experience that demonstrates the required skills. Master’s level education in Engineering or Engineering Management is highly preferred.
Experience
- Typically requires 7-10 years’ experience in high-tech industry environment in manufacturing, product development or service.
- Typically requires 5-7 years of technical management experience (people and/or projects) in a high-tech semiconductor capital equipment environment.
- Proven ability managing resources and leading cross-site and multi-functional projects.
- Proven ability collaborating closely with internal departments to meet business objectives while managing through challenges without damaging relationships.
- Understanding or working knowledge of other business functions (Materials, Financial, Sales, Engineering and Human Resources) in addition to manufacturing and quality.
- Experience with Practical Process Improvements (PPI) including cost reduction by workflow or design improvements.
- Experience in Failure Analysis and Solving Problems.
- Experience in a clean room environment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Experience with use of statistical process control, statistical problem-solving methods, FMEA, Six-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S.
- Planning, organizing, prioritizing, and goal setting.
- Detailed structured problem-solving techniques.
- Teamwork and partnership in multi-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have ability to acquire a valid passport and travel internationally as the need arises.
