In this critical role, we are looking for someone with in-depth experience in Procurement Category Strategy, Contract Lifecycle Management, and Technology to drive major change management initiatives throughout the CBI $6B source-to-pay value chain, having a forward-looking view to invest and utilize technology and digitization, as well as the continuous improvement mindset to engage with our key stakeholders throughout the organization. The major scopes under the remit of the Director of COE will be mainly: Strategic Sourcing Planning & Strategy, CLM, Increase Spend Under Management, Procurement Sustainability, and Procurement Technology.

This role will report directly to the Sr. Director Procurement Center of Excellence.



Responsibilities

  • Lead the Procurement COE Sourcing & Contract Team (2 FTEs), fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence, with overall accountability for the success of the team.
    • Supports the talent development of team members and the overall development of cross-functional teams by identifying gaps to capabilities and developing training programs to solve.


  • Identify trends and opportunities for procurement through industry involvement that continuously drives insights into best practices. Oversee the procurement process and develop policies, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead implementation of Contract Lifecycle Management System working with key legal, information technology, and procurement stakeholders. Lead change management approach with category management teams.
  • Institutionalize operational and sourcing best practices and strategies across critical commodities in $6B end to end supply chain.
  • Relationship owner with information technology and Procure-to-Pay for all procurement technology related initiatives.
  • Implement and monitor key procurement performance metrics to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance procurement skills and knowledge across the organization.
  • Serve as a highly influential leader & change agent to the broad stakeholder community as it relates to the sourcing and contract execution process.
  • Lead long range procurement planning with category leads to develop strategic sourcing plans across Beer and Wine & Spirts divisions that deliver procurement strategies leveraging full scale of supply chain.
  • Engage with executive-level stakeholders across the organization and ensure team efforts meet stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Lead identification of spend categories that can be brought under procurement’s management. Work with business leaders and procurement category managers to implement procurement processes to increase spend under procurement management.
  • Work with CSR and category managers to formalize a sustainability program with measurable KPIs for sustainability efforts.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement / sourcing. Documented category strategy development and implementation.
  • 3+ years of Procurement technology-related experience
  • 3+ years of change management experience, especially cross-functional and high-profile stakeholder management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business-related degree programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of and the ability to effectively leverage technology (E.g., ERP systems, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, etc.
  • Proven track record of managing a high-performing procurement team.
  • Developed communication skills and system thinking, and able to navigate and influence various levels of the organization.
  • Excellent understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems.
  • Experience in CPG or food & beverage industry.

Physical Requirements/Other


  • Must be able sit and/or stand for extended periods, and work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Primary work environment is within a corporate office setting.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Domestic and international travel required, up to 25% annually on an ad hoc basis.
  • The preferred location is Chicago, IL.

The salary range for this role is:
$127,500.00 – $203,600.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Our compensation is based on cost of labor. For remote locations or positions open to multiple locations, the pay range may reflect several US geographic markets, including the lowest geographic market minimum to the highest geographic market maximum. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. At Constellation Brands, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
