What You Will Do:
The Director of SHEQ provides strategic leadership and oversight for all safety and quality assurance programs and activities across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring that the standards set by the organization meet or exceed expectations and comply with all protocols. The person will lead a team of safety and quality professionals and collaborate across departments to drive continuous improvement in performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive SHEQ strategy aligned with the organization’s overall business objectives and strategic priorities. This includes establishing SHEQ goals with Zone SHEQ counterparts, defining key performance indicators (KPIs), and developing action plans to achieve desired outcomes.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure compliance with all applicable L’Oreal requirements and industry standards related to quality and safety. This includes monitoring changes in requirements, conducting internal audits, and managing external audits.
- Process Improvement: Lead cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements to enhance product and service quality. Utilize improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, and Kaizen.
- Data Analysis & Metrics: Establish systems for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting SHEQ data. Develop and implement standarized reports to track KPIs, monitor trends, and identify areas for improvement. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Team Management: Lead, manage, and mentor a team of SHEQ professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
- Inventory Management: Implement (where necessary) and manage a robust cycle counting. PI, ADI and stock sync compliance. Analyze to identify trends and implement corrective actions to address issues.
- Training & Development: Ensure that employees have the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain high standards and knowledge of L’Oreal requirements
- Auditing: Conduct regular internal audits and manage external audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement audit schedules and follow-up procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Operations, Engineering, and Customer Service, to ensure alignment and effective implementation of initiatives.
What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Operations role with responsibilities for Safety and Quality, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Six Sigma Black Belt, or other relevant certifications preferred.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing successful change management programs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience managing budgets and resources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant quality management software.

Additional Benefits Information As Follows:
Salary Range: $126,900-$184,000
