Patient Registrar – Patient Access – Evenings

The Patient Registrar serves as the patient’s main point of contact and the face of the NewYork-Presbyterian Queens organization while scheduling patients for visits, tests, and admissions, registering patients when they arrive, screening for medical necessity, and obtaining necessary pre-certifications and authorizations. These tasks must be completed with an emphasis on both accuracy, to ensure payment from third parties, and customer service, to foster a positive patient experience.

This is a full-time, evening shift (3 pm – 11 pm, alternating weekends and holidays) opportunity at NYP Queens.

Required Criteria:

• High School diploma or equivalent GED

• Experience in clerical skills, solid knowledge of navigating PC based operations.

• Knowledge of insurance carriers.

• Ability to work well in a team setting as well as independently.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Superior customer service and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Criteria:

• Experience working in a hospital, practice or healthcare setting processing patient information.

• Knowledge of Insurance verification

• EPIC

• Some College

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

Salary Range:

$28.83-$36.00/Hourly
