The Assistant Leisure Sales Manager is property based at the Grand Hyatt Vail and supports the strategic efforts in driving new Consortia, Wholesale, and Travel business. This person is a junior manager in a development role for future leisure sales efforts with Hyatt. The position requires a level of understanding of hospitality, hotel sales, and agency sales processes. The candidate will have a record of proven success in customer service, creativity, time management, and follow through in their current role.

This position sells, audits, and prospects all contracted corporate, consortia and wholesale accounts for the Grand Hyatt Vail. Essential Job Functions:

• Conduct market research for new business opportunities in Agency 360 and other online tools.


• Manage current accounts by organizing weekly sales calls and monthly or quarterly client events

• Ensure proper solicitation of new accounts and secure business through Familiarization tours, site visits, and sales calls.


• Preparing and presenting effective proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations, with support and guidance from Area Leisure Sales Manager.

• Maintaining well organized documentation and reporting in Hyatt’s Sales and account management tool, Envision software.


• Utilization of Hyatt’s reservation technology systems (Prio and Reserve) and coordination of customer service requirements with hotel operations staff as processes dictate, as well as creatively assess ability to improve upon these processes.

• Travel as required attend tradeshows and connect with customers via sales calls.


• Attend sales stand up and strategy meetings as scheduled.

• Additional duties as determined by the Directors of Sales and Marketing.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of hospitality or travel experience preferred
  • Experience in luxury or upper upscale hospitality properties preferred
  • Knowledge of local market preferred
  • Proven ability to follow through and meet deadlines
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Possesses self-motivation and time management
  • Proficiency in general computer knowledge, Hotelligence, Lanyon and Sabre RFP systems a plus
  • Community involvement and/or professional association is highly regarded
  • Refined verbal and written English communication skills a must
