This role will contribute to our workforce’s onsite meeting/event planning and coordination experience. It will continuously improve the onsite meeting and event experience for our workforce at our SSF campus and sometimes across our North America Pharma network of sites.
Genentech Onsite Meeting and Event Experience
The Event Partner role is integral to the success of onsite events at Genentech, serving as a key contributor to the seamless execution of high-profile, high-production events. This position also oversees the management and operation of our largest and most prominent event venue, “B21,” ensuring it meets the highest standards for internal and external attendees. The Event Partner will provide expertise in event planning, venue management, and workforce engagement, delivering a white-glove experience for hundreds to thousands of attendees.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning and Coordination:
- Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for workforce meeting and event planning, streamlining the planning process and creating a hotel-like service experience.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and recommend event objectives, budgets, and success metrics.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to produce seamless, high-quality events.
- Provide subject matter expertise to inform and enhance event processes, ensuring alignment with Genentech’s workforce needs and business strategies.
- Partner with Business Operations Communications to align event messaging with overall organizational goals.
Venue Management:
- Oversee the operations of “B21,” Genentech’s largest and most prominent event venue, ensuring the space is maintained to the highest standards.
- Manage and enforce building guidelines and policies, ensuring compliance by all users.
- Coordinate with Facilities and Maintenance teams to address and resolve venue-related issues promptly.
- Monitor and manage event space utilization to optimize availability and maintain a professional, welcoming environment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for venue-related inquiries and issues, providing timely and effective resolutions.
Event Execution:
- Assemble creative and innovative event concepts using internal resources or qualified vendors.
- Work closely with event vendors to produce events that exceed workforce expectations.
- Analyze event operations, including tracking budgets, establishing success metrics, and implementing recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide hands-on support during events to ensure smooth execution and address last-minute needs.
Strategic Contributions:
- Contribute to the evolution of the Onsite Events & Experiences program, transforming it into a full-service event planning and coordination service for Genentech’s workforce.
- Act as a thought leader in event strategy, bringing innovative ideas to enhance the onsite meeting and event experience.
- Build strong partnerships across organizations to deliver engaging, collaborative, and impactful meeting experiences.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in event planning and venue management, preferably in a corporate or high-profile environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working with external vendors and managing budgets.
- A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable event experiences.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Own events across Site Services and Workforce Services from planning to execution to close-out
- Provide expertise and guidance to the Onsite Meetings & Events team process to deliver a seamless onsite meeting experience.
- B21 venue management furniture, access, deep cleaning, access, permits, etc.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
(Minimum requirements)
- Education: BA or BS degree or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with large-scale AV deployments.
- Experience with vendor assessment and management for event delivery and ongoing support.
- Experience with project management and reporting tools.
Ability to summarize and communicate everyday business requirements around end - user needs.
- Ability to successfully prioritize and track tasks.
- 5+ years of business experience, with a focus on program delivery with the leading employer(s) in the Bay Area, where creating a fantastic employee experience is a strategic focus.
- Experience managing expense budgets.
This position is not eligible for relocation.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $67,500.00 – $125,300.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
