The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a full-time Field Hockey Head Coach.
The University of Mount Olive Field Hockey program has posted three-straight double-digit win seasons while collecting a pair of South Atlantic Conference (SAC) regular season titles. Over the last three years, the Trojans have been featured in the top-10 of the NFHCA national rankings, including as high as No. 4 in NCAA Division II. Mount Olive has featured multiple All-American selections while also receiving several academic accolades from the NFHCA.

Job Description: The head coach is responsible for facilitating all aspects associated with running a collegiate Field Hockey program. Duties include directing all phases of the Field Hockey program, including on-field coaching at practices and games, recruiting qualified student-athletes, and monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes. The head coach is also responsible for equipment maintenance, travel coordination, as well as budget preparation and reconciliation. The head coach for Field Hockey must abide by all rules and regulations established by the University of Mount Olive, the South Atlantic Conference, and the NCAA. Secondary duties are assisting with game management at home athletics contest.



    Essential Responsibilities:
  • Recruit student-athletes that align with the University’s mission and values and meet the required standards set by the Department of Admissions
  • Effectively manage athletic scholarships and obtain assigned roster numbers and net revenue values that have been set for the field hockey program.
  • Provide academic, personal, and professional mentoring to student-athletes.
  • Procure and manage inventory of uniforms, equipment, and supplies.
  • Generate additional funds for the field hockey program.
  • Hire, train, and supervise Graduate Assistant Coach.

Requirements: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree at minimum; a master’s degree is preferred for all head coaching positions at the University of Mount Olive. Collegiate Field Hockey playing and/or coaching experience is preferred.
