Summary:
The Patient Safety Technician provides supervision of patients who require continuous observation. The PST is to ensure the patient’s safety and well-being, while providing continuous patient observation, interaction and role modeling to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. While performing these specific duties, the PST must provide appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse violent situations, and correctly prioritizing safety concerns.
Requirements:
Education/Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Computer Knowledge
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Experience
- Previous related experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations
- None required
Work Type:
Per Diem As Needed
