Job Summary:

The Vice President, Executive Communications is responsible for drafting and executing communication strategies and written materials for the company’s executive leadership team. The VP will work closely with the EVP of Communications for Disney Entertainment Television and collaborate with teams across the company to ensure all executive messaging effectively aligns with the messaging of DET and the overall Walt Disney Company narrative. The role’s responsibilities involve writing speeches, talking points, briefing documents and other written internal and external communications, as well as being involved in the coordination of events for executives and key stakeholders. This role will report directly to the Executive Vice President, Communications for Disney Entertainment Television.

Responsibilities:


  • Oversee all written materials for senior executive leadership including speeches, talking points, quotes, briefing documents and internal communications. Role may also require some oversight of corporate announcements.
  • Help lead external and internal communications planning for senior Disney Entertainment Television executive leadership, providing strategic guidance on executive engagement opportunities.
  • Coordinate with executives’ offices to ensure turn-key advance operations.
  • Develop and execute long-term communications strategies for Disney Entertainment Television executives.
  • Craft messaging for key stakeholder events including board meetings, earnings reports and entertainment summits.
  • Collaborate with teams across the company to align on messaging, elevate company news and enhance communication efforts.
  • Partner with the social media, publicity and other teams to maintain leaders’ social presence through compelling editorial and visual content.
  • Take a 360-degree approach and balance multiple points-of-view, stakeholder goals, and business priorities to coalesce ideas into clear, consistent messages that achieve a variety of objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior leaders and teams in a highly matrixed organization

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Extensive experience in speechwriting and proven executive communications success for high-profile and/or public figures
  • Strategic thinking and forward-looking, with the ability to anticipate needs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of or experience in the entertainment industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred


The hiring range for this position in Burbank/Glendale, CA is $255,700.00-$342,900.00 The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
