Job Duties

This role is full-time, 36 hours per week, (3) 12-hour shifts, days with call (30-minute call requirement) and a holiday rotation.  A minimum of (1) year of RN work experience is required.  Critical care RN experience is preferred.  Now, nursing at Geisinger has even more of what you need for a rewarding career.  A newly enhanced pay structure, a comprehensive benefits package, and a positive work culture!

Job Description

  • Provides nursing care in Radiology as they relate to patient care, imaging and interventional procedures.
  • Administers medications and treatments according to policy and procedure.
  • Assesses patient responses to medications and testing per protocols and document information in medical record.
  • Assures all necessary paperwork and information is present for procedures.
  • Prepares patients for procedures, including reviewing history and medication list, etc.
  • Assesses patients’ physical status as well as their understanding of the procedure.
  • Provides patient and family education.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises care based upon patient response to interventions.
  • Provides Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • Performs emergency procedures when necessary; transports equipment to patient’s bedside when necessary.
  • Starts and regulates oxygen.
  • Assists with patient transport as required.
  • Assists with therapies including assessing vitals and administering medications.
  • Assists with orientation of personnel and students.
  • Responsible for assessment of lab results prior to procedures.
  • Assist throughout the radiology department with nursing needs.

Hiring incentive: $10,000 sign-on bonus paid over 2 years for eligible hires.
