Your New Role…
Report, research, write and update all stages of assigned stories, from initial breaking news briefs to fully formed stories across all platforms.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency in reporting breaking news and delivering real-time updates.
• Utilize strong editorial judgment to quickly frame clearly written news items for maximum impact.
• Work closely with other CNN journalists on collaborative, comprehensive and contextualized news coverage.
• Make reporting inquires on a wide variety of prospective news stories.
• Gather and vet supporting editorial for all platforms as needed.
• Contribute story ideas in the daily news and continuing coverage space.
• Monitor the competitive landscape and multiple sources for news developments.
• Serve as a line editor when needed, providing feedback and guidance to colleagues to enhance the quality of their work.
• May be deployed on field assignments to enhance breaking news coverage or pursue distinctive storylines.
Qualifications & Experience…
• Willingness to work weekends: This is a weekend role, with a schedule that will include Saturdays and Sundays. Hours may include early mornings or late evenings.
• Working knowledge of a large number and wide variety of news topics.
• At least 3 or more years of progressively complex related experience.
• College degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Writing, editing, pitching, newsgathering/research, collaboration.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $64,890.00 – $120,510.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
