In this role will offer you the following daily responsibilities:

• The primary responsibilities of this position will be to provide overall systems engineer support to the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM), Advanced Reentry Flight Sciences / Flight Test Integration and Telemetry team.

• Advanced Reentry Projects is responsible for development, build, test, and delivery of advanced instrumented Reentry Bodies (RBs).

• Responsibilities within this group will include requirements development and product verification, conducting systems engineering design reviews, document generation, and coordination with multiple disciplines to achieve project milestones including design (mechanical, electrical, RF & Software), flight sciences, Assembly Integration and Test (AI&T), external contractors as well as the Navy customer.

• The candidate will work in a support role under the direction of a team lead responsible for a flight test project, with the emphasis on telemetry development/coordination and analysis.

• Occasional travel may be required.

Although this position does support some teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.
Basic Qualifications:
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

• STEM Degree with emphasis in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Materials Science, etc.) ,
• Previous experience giving frequent briefings to senior leadership, government and/or military officials,
• Willing to work independently to oversee the completion of Flight Science and Flight Test Integration product coordination from initial design to final product delivery.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to prepare reports, graphs, and visual presentation aids, perform measurements, and interpret data.
• Must be be willing and able to work independently and in a small team environment.
• You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Desired Skills:
To be effective, ideally, you should also have:

• Demonstrated experience with wireless communications, including various modulation schemes, error correcting codes, international communication standards (e.g. space wire).
• Knowledge of & experience with Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Programs’ Reentry Systems’ products and performance
• Knowledge of encryption standards
• Demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering disciplines, ie. Telemetry, RF, etc..
• High level of accountability
• Must be detailed orientated an able to multitask consecutive projects simultaneously within project timelines
• Demonstrated exceptional strategic communication skills, both written, verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers, suppliers, and stakeholders, as well as program executives, with an ability to persuade and motivate action.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9×80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $82,200 – $157,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
