Immediate opening for a Sr. Project Engineer in Dayton, OH who possesses:  


  • Must have an active Secret DoD clearance
  • 8+ years of engineering project management in aerospace / defense industry
  • Bachelor's degree required, PMP certification or DAWIA level 2 certification preferred
  • Must have previous hands-on systems or electrical engineering experience, experience within RF industry preferred

FULL DESCRIPTION: The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing timelines, and ensuring technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle. The Senior Project Engineer acts as a technical leader and provides mentorship to junior engineers while ensuring projects meet all requirements for quality, safety, and environmental compliance.



The selected candidate will be responsible for:  


  • Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring on-time delivery, within budget, and to the required quality standards. 
  • Provide interface between Project Management, Design and Production team
  • Provide technical direction and solutions for complex engineering challenges. Act as the subject matter expert for engineering designs and project specifications.
  • Oversee the design and development of project plans, specifications, and engineering solutions. Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders such as clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring potential issues are addressed proactively.
  • Support the development of project budgets, schedules, and resources. Monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Ensure all engineering work complies with relevant safety, quality, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and standards.
  • Manage the tasking of technical team ensuring resources are available to support all project milestones and deliveries.
  • Ensure thorough and accurate project documentation, including reports, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis.

The selected candidate will also possess:  


  • Strong project management skills with experience managing multi-discipline, cross functional engineering projects.
  • Expertise in engineering design, development, and analysis.
  • Experience working RF systems development for terrestrial and space-based systems. Particularly with GNSS systems and associated ground-based support equipment.
  • Experience with engineering software and tools such as SolidWorks, MatLab, Jama, and Jira
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with military and industrial design standards, and certification of systems for military use.
  • Responsible for defining system and subsystem interfaces and translation of those requirements across a multi-disciplinary team which they manage.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Required to display strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meeting project/company objectives.
  • Bachelor of Science in any of the following fields: Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Master's Degree in Engineering preferred • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
  • Familiarization with DoD Acquisition System
  • 12+ years of experience in engineering project management or similar role, preferably in Aerospace and Defense Industry.
  • Developing and tailoring System Engineering processes based on program cost, schedule, and risk tolerance
  • Developing requirements traceability verification matrix (RVTM) and supporting the verification analysis and testing.
  • Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards in a design and manufacturing environment
  • Using System Engineering tools to document and manage project requirements 


Salary Range: $180k-$200k/yr
