Physical Requirements |
The physical requirements for this position include regularly sitting, standing, walking, with some pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 10lbs and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects up to 50lbs.

Shift |
Six 12-hour clinical shifts and 8 hours of professional development per 2-week pay period; including weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays (based on clinical schedule/needs). Additional clinical shifts are compensated at market rate.

Job Summary |
The Advanced Practice Provider Neonatal ICU functions within the NICU and throughout the KCH service line and is an integral member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
The APP functions primarily in the inpatient ICU setting managing the care of acute and chronically ill neonates. The APP is generally on a service-aligned team and manages the day-to-day patient care from ICU to step down to discharge. In some instances, the APP may have responsibilities for this same patient population as they return for follow-up in the outpatient setting. The APP may also play a role in the admission process including deliveries. The APP has a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and education and has a responsibility to ensure an environment of safe quality care. The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation. The neonatal APP functions as a member of the NICU medical management team, under the supervision of Neonatology attending physicians. The APP should demonstrate professional practice behaviors; function as a team player; actively participate in case conferences, educational lectures, staff, and committee meetings; maintain continuing medical education; and keep appropriate licensure and certification current. Preferred Education/Experience |
For Nurse Practitioners, 1 year of nursing experience in a NICU and completion of a NNP graduate program required. For Physician Assistants, 1 year of NICU experience or 1 year of a PA NICU Residency.
