White 7 is a 27-bed inpatient adult general Surgical/Trauma unit. It serves both acute and chronic care patients of various ethnic/cultural backgrounds. White 7 is a Dedicated Educational Unit which partners with UMASS Boston. This unique relationship utilizes staff nurses as adjunct faculty. Candidates are asked to be active members within this environment of learning.
This is an exciting opportunity for RNs to work in our surgical/trauma unit! We are looking for full-time staff with a schedule of 36-39 hours per week; 3-4 12hr shifts per week; Day/Night rotation. Weekend and holiday rotation required.
Job Summary
Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients’ clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.

Essential Functions
Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
-Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
-Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
-Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.
-Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
-Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions.
Qualifications
Education
Associate’s Degree Nursing required or Bachelor’s Degree Nursing preferred

MA RN License
Experience
Clinical nursing experience 1 year required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
– Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
– Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
– Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
– Knowledge of medical terminology.
– Excellent verbal and communication skills.
– Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
