The Position:
The Safety & Security Manager is responsible for the loss prevention and safety functions of the resort. This person will respond to guest and employee emergencies, complete incident reports, maintain proper reporting and recordkeeping, and supervise and train the Security staff. A minimum of two years of Security and/or risk management leadership experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, and customer service experience preferred.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identify and protect company assets through the development and implementation of security protocols and policies
- Maintain updated safety policy and procedures, audit quarterly for accuracy
- Coordinates with department heads, managers, supervisors and colleagues on safety related issues.
- Ensure colleague compliance with security procedures and guidelines through training programs and assessments
- Ensure the safety of colleagues and guests within the workplace
- Conduct safety and security process evaluations, post incident assessments and inspections, and provide recommended corrective and/or preventative actions.
- Prepare the organization and staff for external audits/inspections
- Manage the budget, scheduling and daily operations for the Security department
- Prepare and submit all safety-related reporting on an annual and ad-hoc basis
- Includes annual property survey & annual security and safety assessment survey
- Lead the safety and hygiene efforts on property.
- Chair the property Safety Committee in partnership with the Human Resources manager
- Partner with Human Resources on Worker’s Compensation administration and reporting
- Hire and train security staff
- Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee the AED, fire extinguisher and fire department inspections
- Manages and updates the emergency response protocols as necessary

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written communications
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Demonstrated ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow up on work assignments with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal guidelines, laws and regulations in emergency and safety management
- Knowledge of best practices and standards for safety and security operations
- Knowledge of research analysis methods and incident report writing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated success in training a diverse team, including colleague and management levels
- Security certifications preferred
- FirstAid/CPR trainer certification preferred
- Previous experience working in Security and/or Human Resources strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of surveillance programs including, monitoring systems and participating in the conducting of investigations
- Understanding of workers compensation administration
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Excellent team building and leadership skills
- Ability to complete tasks with high attention to detail
- Interest in protecting the people and assets within the organization
- Ability to interpret data and complete required reporting using Excel and other systems
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated ability to conduct oneself with the highest level of trust and integrity
