We are searching for the best talent for an Associate Director, Scientific Meeting & Engagement to join our US Immunology Medical Affairs Strategic Operations team located in Horsham, PA.


Purpose:

Are you ready to embrace a distinctive opportunity that will empower you to create a meaningful influence in the field of healthcare? In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of planning and implementing impactful scientific congresses. You will collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, including medical directors, medical science liaisons (MSLs), R&D, and scientific communications at major scientific meetings.

You will be responsible for:


  • Lead scientific and strategic discussions with TA leads to set overall scientific congress strategy

  • Manage overall scientific meeting planning, including identification of congresses to support a medical booth and/or HCP, investigator, and cooperative group stakeholder scientific exchange

  • Collaborate closely with commercial, global medical affairs, and R&D, to ensure united presence

  • Manage the review and approval of medical content for congress use in the US

  • Collaborate with external agencies, vendors, and the USMA team to facilitate effective stakeholder engagements

  • Coordinate and maintain tracking of agency contracts and budgets related to congress support, including necessary budget reconciliations

  • Drive project management efforts in partnership with US Medical Affairs and commercial congress leads

  • Provide critical support for onsite leadership during various congresses

  • Support scientific content development, management, and review

  • Develop presentations for senior management and business partners regarding congress objectives, planning, details, metrics, and benchmarking

  • Serve as a subject matter authority on Immunology congresses

  • Ensure clear communication across all cross-functional groups

  • Champion innovative practices and encourage knowledge sharing among colleagues

  • Build strong relationships within various departments and with external partners involved in organizing scientific meetings

  • Support other external engagement activities such as Advisory Boards, Steering Committees, and Symposiums

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline required; Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, Master’s) and at least 4 -8 years of experience highly prefered

  • Experience in scientific meeting management (advisory boards, steering committees, or investigator meetings), leading events management teams and external suppliers is prefered

  • Deep understanding of customer engagement principles in healthcare or related fields is prefered

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle complex tasks, meet tight deadlines and develop strategic plans is required

  • Strong collaboration and influencing abilities across different levels of the organization is required

  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, along with conflict management and problem-solving expertise is required

  • Proven skills for navigating a highly matrixed environment and forming strong relationships is required

  • Ability to work in the Horsham, PA office in a hybrid schedule (3 days in the office and 2 days remotely per week)

  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically required
