We are looking for a Production Planner and Buyer. This position will be based at our Southaven Distribution Center. This role is responsible for the planning of modifications for the Mod Shop, purchasing raw materials that will be utilized in material builds and review the backlog to troubleshoot and expedite orders for production.

Role Responsibilities:


  • Place purchase orders with key suppliers of raw materials.
  • Partner with suppliers to expedite key component shortages.
  • Monitor and manage raw materials shortages and proactively communicate with suppliers.
  • Partner with supplier to build and execute material availability improvement plans.
  • Review and monitor the order backlog ensuring all orders are completed per the customer confirmation date.
  • Troubleshoot production orders and determine root cause of why orders are delayed for production.
  • Effectively communicate requirements to resolve open overdue orders which may include communications to the supplier, finished good purchasing team, product management and customer service.
  • Ensuring proper stocking levels for all raw materials that are required for consumption in the mod shop
  • Proactively reviewing backlogs in the department and ensuring overdue orders are prioritized.
  • Communicate effective and accurate plans to reduce overdue backlog orders which includes timeline of resolution.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Highschool degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years experience working with suppliers and purchasing of raw materials
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP system
  • 1-2 years of experience in assembly/manufacturing environment
  • Able to work in a non-climatized warehouse environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex design challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and interact with clients or stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in creating and reviewing technical drawings.
  • Time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years production scheduling experience
  • Experience in engineer to order/ made to order

  • The pay range for this position is $51,800 – $88,800. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
