Siemens Electrical Products- Residential Solutions is seeking a Component Engineer in Peachtree Corners GA. The Component Engineer will guide the preparation of sketches, produce design layouts, and document product designs. Provide comprehensive review of test results and validate products’ performance in the intended manner. Generate prototypes for testing and provide technical assistance on design feasibility. Develop standard processes for designing and assemblies. Create and maintain detailed and comprehensive design related records that document inventive ideas, designs, basic improvements, and test results. Lead product design reviews to ensure designs avoid patent infringements, meet or exceed standard requirements, and meet the principles of Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
You will make an impact with the following duties:
The Component Engineer is committed to adhering to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and compliance with relevant regulations and codes in the design of residential power distribution equipment, i.e., single and multi-family metering, load centers, solar, and energy management equipment. Component Engineer to design equipment with the following key considerations:
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure designs align with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant UL standards to ensure that residential power distribution systems are safe and reliable. Conduct meticulous testing and quality assurance processes to meet these requirements.
- Efficiency and Sustainability: Incorporate energy-efficient technologies and practices into our designs to minimize energy loss and promote sustainability. This includes using high-quality materials and optimizing system layouts to reduce waste and enhance performance.
- Integration and Compatibility: Ensure seamless integration of residential power distribution systems with EV chargers and solar panels. Incorporates advanced energy management features to optimize the use of electricity generated by solar panels and to efficiently manage the energy needs of EV chargers. This includes smart grid technologies and load management solutions to enhance energy efficiency and reduce overall costs.
- Innovative Design: Leveraging the latest advancements in technology to enhance the functionality and ease of use of residential power distribution systems. We focus on integrating smart grid technologies where feasible to improve energy management and consumer control.
- User-Centric Solutions: Design with the end user in mind, ensuring that systems are intuitive for homeowners to use and maintain. This includes clear interfaces for monitoring and controlling energy use, as well as straightforward installation procedures for both solar and EV equipment.
- Scalability and Future-Proofing: Create designs that can accommodate future upgrades and expansions; i.e., additional solar panels, more powerful EV chargers, or evolving energy needs.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3 plus years’ experience with the following:
- Low/Medium Voltage product and production knowledge
- CAD design skills including but not limited to concept development, 3D component modeling, 3D assembly creation, sheet metal design, family table management, 2D drawing creation, and BOM creation.
- Project management skills related to development of detailed project schedules, leading teams, and estimating product costs.
- Ability to identify internal and external tooling/equipment requirements to assure manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
- Experience in a Manufacturing environment.
- Ability to own and complete personal / professional development plan as part of self-continuous improvement.
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Being Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not a requirement.
- Detail oriented, analytical problem solver combined with strong organizational skills.
- Proactive at driving daily tasks and achieving long-term goals.
- Passionate about product development and strong commitment to the company vision.

- The pay range for this position is $74,200 – $127,200. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
