In this hybrid role, candidates must be available to work onsite at Nordstrom’s headquarters in Seattle, WA a minimum of 3 days/week.


About the team…

As a part of the Customer Mobile Applications team, you’ll work across our applications to help create and test a unique and robust experience for some of our most engaged customers. We work closely as a team and focus on our collaborative mindset and relationships to deliver customer facing value every two weeks. By partnering closely with product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and translating learnings into pragmatic and effective technical testable solutions. The team is open-minded, transparent, and strives to constantly help each other and get better with every iteration.

Tech Stack:

You’ll work with languages such as Kotlin and Java for Android app development. Our tech stack also includes tools like AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres, Kafka, Swift, Python, Node.js, and React, allowing you to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.



Collaborative Environment:

You’ll collaborate closely with a team of talented developers to design, architect, and develop features for our applications. This involves ideation, coding, and ensuring that each feature meets the highest standards of functionality and performance.



Quality Assurance:

We believe in delivering quality code from day one. You’ll write unit tests for your code, conduct thorough testing, and work with our QA team to ensure that all aspects of your work are production ready.



User-Centric Approach:

Understanding user needs is at the core of what we do. You’ll work closely with product managers and designers to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and translate these insights into innovative and effective technical solutions.



Continuous Learning and Improvement:

Key responsibilities…

  • Develop robust and scalable Android applications using Kotlin or Java.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement features that meet user needs.
  • Write unit tests and conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Stay informed about the latest technologies and industry trends in Android development.
  • Participate in product planning meetings, contributing insights on technical feasibility.

What you’ll bring…

  • 1+ years of experience in Android app development using Kotlin or Java.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience required
  • Strong understanding of Android SDK and related libraries.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, web services, and backend integration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • A passion for learning and staying current with new technologies.

Pay Range Details


The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $88,500 – $162,500 Annually



This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
