How you’ll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Design Operations Lead is responsible for optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our Digital Design & UX team. They will streamline workflows, run the intake process, and manage & track design projects. A primary component of their job is to connect with and listen to design team members to understand where gaps and hurdles exist in the design process and design, implement, and iterate upon solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Serving as a liaison between the design team and stakeholders to share information around updates, handoffs, and feedback
  • Managing design request intake process and assigning tasks to designers
  • Creating and tracking design project timelines
  • Identifying critical gaps in processes and build ways of working that optimize designers’ day-to-day workflow
  • Socializing the design process to other teams
  • Establishing strong cross-functional partnerships and fostering strong relationships across teams
  • Tracking usage of design tools like Figma
  • Leading designers through project planning and managing scopes of work

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience delivering programs that affect people and processes, ideally in design operations, project management, consulting, or business operations
  • Expertise in design practices and methodologies, product development lifecycle, and measurement & evaluation
  • Strong program & project management and stakeholder management skills
  • Expertise in measuring impact, identifying risks, and focusing projects on priorities that accomplish outcomes
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. 
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. 
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. 
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Formal education in design, human-computer interaction, or related field.
  • Previous experience managing ops for large design teams is a plus.
  • Previous retail and e-commerce design experience is highly desirable.
