This internship position is located inSouth San Francisco, on-site.


The Opportunity

The intern will focus on screening and validating candidate genes that potentially regulate T cell fitness in the context of T cell bispecific treatment for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). This role involves optimizing the arrayed CRISPR method and executing screenings, with the potential for ex vivo validation using healthy and patient-derived T and tumor cells.

  • Collaborating with multiple stakeholders to refine and implement cutting-edge experimental techniques.
  • Actively participating in departmental meetings, presenting findings, and contributing to discussions.
  • Communicating research results through written reports and oral presentations, with opportunities to share data at upcoming conferences.
  • This position provides a unique opportunity to engage in innovative research and make meaningful contributions to the field of hematology.

Program Highlights


  • Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
  • Program start dates are in May/June 2025.
  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

Who You Are (Required)

Required Education


You meet one of the following criteria:

  • Must have attained a Bachelor’s Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program)
  • Must be pursuing a Master’s Degree (enrolled student)
  • Must have attained a Master’s Degree
  • Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)

Required Majors: Cancer biology, Molecular biology, Immunology, or related disciplines with relevant work or educational experience.


Required Skills:

  • Hands-on experience through a lab-based research project.
  • Working knowledge of ex-vivo cell culture techniques and molecular biology experiments.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:


  • Practical experience with CRISPR techniques and/or high-throughput screening methods.
  • Understanding of the principles of T cell therapy in cancer, with experimental experience related to immunotherapy.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.



The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $25.00-$45.00 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
