Overview

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day accounting activities of the company and for ensuring compliance to established accounting principles.

This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer.  *Pay range will be evaluated based on experience level.

Responsibilities

·         Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day accounting activities including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.

·         Support the month-end close and financial reporting processes.

·         Comply with local, state and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.

·         Develop and implement internal controls and processes to drive best practices, improve efficiencies and ensure GAAP compliance.

·         Oversee the activities of accounts receivable to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components.

·         Oversee the activities of payroll to ensure the accurate and timely management of all payroll components.

·         Oversee the activities of client billing to ensure the accurate and timely management of all client billing.

·         Prepare tax reports on a timely basis.

·         Participate in a wide variety of projects and compile a range of special reports.

·         Manage, direct, train and empower a small accounting team.

·         Other duties as required.

 

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge

·         5+ years working as an Accounting Manager/Full Charge Bookkeeper

·         Prior supervisory skills preferred

·         Understanding of financial concepts

·         Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

·         Strong Analytical Skills

·         High level of attention to detail and accuracy

·         Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

·         Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written

·         Strong computer knowledge and ability to adapt to changing technology
