Job Summary
At the Office of the Provost, we believe in the power of communication to shape the future of education. As our team grows, we’re looking for a passionate and strategic communications leader to help us elevate our message and impact. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the Provost, 10 Vice Provosts, and their teams, crafting messages that resonate across the university and beyond. You will report to the Director of Communications. This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of three days of work on-site in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The salary range for this role is $93,000 – $100,000.

Responsibilities*
The ideal candidate will excel at:
- Strategic Leadership: Partner with the director and special counsel to the Provost to develop and execute innovative communication strategies tailored to the unique challenges and opportunities in Academic Affairs.
- Collaborative Excellence: Work alongside communications teams across schools, colleges, and the Office of the Vice President for Communications to ensure consistent and well-coordinated messaging.
- Content Creation: Develop engaging and insightful content around emerging topics such as faculty engagement with A.I., elevating the Office of the Provost?s newsletter and other communications channels.
- Media Mastery: Source, write, and edit articles for platforms like the University Record and Michigan News, highlighting the transformative work of our team.
- Responsive Communication: Assist in managing and responding to communications demand during critical times, such as labor disruptions or pandemics.
- Innovative Design: Collaborate in creating and implementing cutting-edge digital assets, ensuring our communications are both impactful and visually appealing.
- Day-to-Day Management: Support the daily communications needs across the office, ensuring seamless operations and timely responses.

- Master Communicator: You possess exceptional writing and editing skills, capable of crafting messages that inspire.
