Aww Inc.: Machine Learning Engineer (ML/NLP)

Position: Part-Time (Contractor)

Location: Fully Remote

Compensation: $3,700–$5,300 per month ($23–$33 per hour)

Working Hours: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (JST)

We’re an innovative startup building virtual humans that can hold natural, interactive conversations. We leverage top-tier technologies, including ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition), TTS (Text-to-Speech), LLMs (Large Language Models), and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation).

By joining us at this early 0→1 phase, you’ll have the unique chance to shape our technology from the ground up and be directly involved in creating new systems and processes—rather than just refining existing ones.

What You’ll Do

1.Model Training & Validation

•Train models using client-specific and character-specific data to ensure responses are both accurate and contextually relevant.

•Validate model outputs for precision, iterating and improving based on performance metrics.

2.Dialogue System Evaluation

•Assess output quality from our conversational AI systems.

•Propose and implement enhancements that improve user experience and dialogue flow.

3.Research & Development

•Explore innovative techniques to boost the conversational quality and realism of our virtual humans.

•Work with ASR, TTS, LLMs, and RAG to push the boundaries of conversational AI.

Requirements

•ML/NLP Expertise: Demonstrable hands-on experience in machine learning or natural language processing, especially for conversational systems.

•Professional English Proficiency: Confident in conducting business communication in English.

•Data Validation & Model Evaluation: Proven ability to set up processes for evaluating and refining ML models.

•Basic Japanese Skills: Helpful for occasional discussions, but not required.

•Game Engine Knowledge: Experience integrating AI models with interactive or game-like environments.

•Startup Experience: Comfortable in a fast-paced setting where priorities and responsibilities can evolve quickly.
