Job Description
Bike Mechanics at Taos Ski Valley, Inc are provided all the tools needed to complete their work professionally, in 2 different locations on the resort. Bike Mechanics are provided seasonal passes for lift access and use of fleet bikes. Staff housing, on or near the resort, is available seasonally. Continuing education opportunities may be available. Managed by Resort Services, our summer bike operations appreciate the support of, and actively participate in resort retail, rental, and special event operations.
Hourly compensation based on a Taos County Living Wage and commensurate with prior professional experience.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Assure the safety of our staff and guests by following all protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain professional mechanical facilities and repair services for our guests.
- Maintain our world-class rental and demo bike fleet.
- Solving mechanical issues quickly and efficiently for the guest and company.
- Cleanliness, attention to detail, and organizational excellence.
- Assist with training of 1 st and 2 nd year rental technicians.
- Monitor rental technician productivity and provide constructive feedback, coaching and support.
- Report weekly and when needed to Resort Services Management.
- Attend and engage in trainings and professional development.
- Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays.

Qualifications/Knowledge
- 3 years / seasons minimum repair work in an established bicycle repair facility.
- Mountain bike suspension, brakes and related service experience required.
- Mechanic certification preferred but not required.
- Retail point-of-sale software experience preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple functions simultaneously in a high-pressure environment and on strict deadlines.
- Demonstrates experience appropriately handling differences, both internally and/or with guests.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings.
Work Environment:
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Taos Ski Valley is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require moving on uneven surfaces and may be exposed to wet, icy, cold and/or humid conditions. Travel may be required.
Physical Demands of Position Include:
50-75% of time spent at a bicycle repair stand. 10-15% of time spent standing/walking. 10-25% of time spent moving objects – often lifting 50 lbs, rarely up to 75lbs, and using a dolly.
Background Check
Positions dealing with children, of safety sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
