Bus Driver – 7 hrs/day (Transportation/PC#253822, PC#253823) 

Position Summary: Bus Drivers are qualified to drive a regular school bus including those containing special features and equipment to assist students having mobility and other access problems over designated and special routes for the purpose of transporting students to and from school. Transports students on special trips and athletic events.

Salary: $23.39 – $30.94 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on experience (new hire maximum of step 5).

Hours: 7 hours/day; 5 days/week

Education and ExperienceThe position requires a high school diploma or the equivalent and successful completion of 20 hours of classroom instruction related to skills, regulations, and safety requirements for driving a school bus and successful completion of 20 hours of instruction behind the wheel of a school bus.


Licenses and Certifications: Requires valid Commercial Class A or B Driver’s License; medical examination card; valid California Special Driver Certificate with PS Endorsement, and valid CPR and ARC First Aid Certificates.

Condition of employment: Insurability by the District’s liability insurance carrier; passage of pre-employment drug testing (DOT), and Random Drug Test(s).


FMCSA Clearinghouse Registration Notice to Applicants: The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has created the Commercial Driver’s License Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse (Clearinghouse). The Clearinghouse is a secure, online database that contains real-time information about CDL drivers with drug or alcohol program violations in accordance with 49 CFR Part 382. It is effective as of January 6, 2020. Prior to hiring an individual to perform safety sensitive duties, Twin Rivers Unified School District is required to conduct a full query of the individual to check whether the Clearinghouse contains any information prohibiting the individual from performing safety sensitive duties. An individual must provide consent for Twin Rivers Unified School District to perform a full query. An individual may only provide consent through the Clearinghouse. Individuals are therefore required to be registered with the Clearinghouse.

  • Certificate Copy (T-01 – Copy of State Department of Education Training Certificate)
  • Certification (DMV DL 45 – Special certificate to drive a school bus in CA. Must not include restrictions 2, 3, or 4)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (First Aid Card required if a Restriction 6 appears on the DL 45)
  • DMV Printout (H-6 (last 10 years/end page of document must be included), not older than 30
  • days)
  • Driver’s License Copy (Commercial Driver’s License with P and S endorsement)
  • Proof of current Automobile Insurance
  • DMV DL 51 – Medical Certificate (Must be current))
  • Proof of HS Graduation – High School Diploma or High School Transcripts or equivalent (ex: GED)
