Cafe Manager

Nettare is looking for a Cafe Manager to assist and consult on expanding our daytime cafe offerings.  We currently offer lunch and brunch service from 10:00 each day.  We are looking to expand to have more traditional cafe hours opening at between 7 & 8am. 

We are installing a La Marzocco ModBar machine as well as other upgrades to the barista station to prepare for this expansion.  Providing input and assisting in the oversight of these upgrades would be the initial responsibility of the position with the goal of opening the cafe hours by the spring if not sooner.

Nettare is a small team made up primarily of management level employees.  As such we all are responsible for a number of tasks that do not fall neatly into different roles and flexibility in responsibilities is an essential part of our team.

Responsibilities include:

• Execution of classic espresso drinks, tea, and a select number of specialty coffee and tea drinks
• Receive any relevant orders that come in for the Front of House in the morning.
• Provide limited assistance to begin setup for the evening service.
• Participate in setting reasonable expectations and goals for the cafe & daytime program as a whole.

Preferred experience

• Held a management position at a neighborhood cafe with insight into day to day operations and sales.
• Deep coffee and tea knowledge.
• Knowledge and/or interest in wine and spirits.
• Front of house restaurant experience preferred 
• Comfortable working independently.

Hours

• Approximately 30 – 35 hours per week over 5 days.

Compensation

• $29 per hour 
• Placement in all day tip pool (estimated $1-2 per hour additional)
• PTO up to 80 hours
• Sick pay up to 40 hours
