About the Role:

As a Carrier Sales Representative, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing, negotiating, and securing carriers to move freight in a timely, cost-effective, and profitable manner. This dynamic, fast-paced position involves building strong relationships with carriers, negotiating pricing, and ensuring smooth communication with our carriers. You will utilize technology and data resources to drive decisions and improve efficiency. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to our land transportation operations and make a tangible impact on freight management across North America.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Build and maintain relationships with carriers through calls and emails.
  • Build strong core relationships with the trucking company’s primary contacts.
  • Source, negotiate, and secure carriers to move freight, ensuring timely delivery at the right price.
  • Continuously communicate with carriers and customers to ensure seamless freight movement, including route changes, delays, and other issues.
  • Utilize technology and data to drive decision-making, negotiate pricing, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Track and update carrier and load information accurately in the system.
  • Communicate load information and ensure issues, and statuses are communicated to our commercial team.
  • Ensure all documentation meets compliance standards and is accurately communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Provide excellent service to both carriers and customers, ensuring a 100% customer satisfaction experience.
  • Meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals and KPIs.
  • Conduct business reviews or discovery calls with carriers as needed.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, market rates, and customer needs.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work/military experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in carrier sales, or logistics operations, with a focus on freight transportation.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence, persuade, and build long-term relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through skills.
  • Resilient and adaptable to changing priorities.
