Senior Backend Developer

About the Role
This role remote friendly and a full-time commitment. As a Senior Backend Developer at Cheqpay, you will work on developing cutting-edge payment solutions some of Mexico’s largest businesses depend on daily. You will be able to contribute to a fast paced team that regularly ships new products that are used by millions of Mexicans. You’ll be expected to collaborate closely with the company’s founders, contribute to the architecture and design of our platforms, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable software.

Required Skills
  • Proficiency in technologies such as Typescript, Node.js (Hono framework), Prisma, and PostgreSQL.
  • Strong architectural knowledge.
  • Proven experience as a delivering web apps to production (must provide examples).
  • Familiarity with Github CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish.

Additional Information
  • Location: Hybrid in Mexico City preferred; fully remote considered.
  • Working Hours: Full time.
  • Contract Type: Contract to hire, with the potential for permanent placement.
  • Start Date: ASAP

    • Technical interview with the Head of Engineering.
