Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for coordinating the approval processes and conduct of research protocols, such that the integrity and quality of the clinical/translational research is maintained and the research is conducted in accordance within all policies, independently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Psychiatry Research, is accepting applications for our Clinical Translational Research Coordinator III (Autism) within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science.


In this role, you will be working in Dr. Blythe Corbett’s SENSE Lab at Vanderbilt University, which will include work on a longitudinal study of youth with and without autism spectrum disorder. The SENSE lab is interested in psychological, physiological, and social functioning over development in children with and without autism spectrum disorder. Responsibilities include conducting screening, recruitment, consent, neuropsychological assessment, and psychosocial stress protocols. Also, you must maintain accurate and timely documentation and communication with investigators, participants, and IRB. A successful candidate will be comfortable interacting with children and adults. A minimum three-year commitment is requested and salary and rank will be commensurate with experience level.



Additionally, you will be responsible for coordinating multiple projects for the lab, which includes recruiting, screening and scheduling research participants across projects. Additionally, you will organize lab meetings, supervise students, keep accurate records, order supplies, track spending and conduct proper research protocols, and ensure the integrity and quality of the research is conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, federal and sponsor regulations and guidelines, Vanderbilt Policy and Procedure, and research protocols.



Finally, you will manage screening, implement recruitment procedures, consent, enrollment, and randomization – from planning through study closeout; perform or implement processes to ensure study-related procedures are performed as required, and objectives and timelines are met; maintain accurate and timely documentation and communication with investigators, participants, IRB, sponsors and other research related entities as needed.


ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in psychology or neuroscience; master’s degree preferred

  • Three years’ research experience or the equivalent


  • Prior Autism spectrum disorder or neurodevelopmental experience is preferred

  • Strong organizational and data management skills


  • Experience in psychiatric clinical research working with patients is preferred.

Sets up study centers, which includes ensuring each center has the trial materials and training site staff to trial-specific industry standards. Has used research resources maintained in outside areas.
* Study Design & Conduct (Intermediate): Applies qualitative and quantitative research methods to perform preparatory, regulatory, and analytic tasking within the life cycle of a study.
* Communication (Intermediate): Clearly, effectively and respectfully communicates to employees or customers.
* Project Coordination (Intermediate): Performs project tracking and reporting relative to task completion dates, dependency effects, problem anticipation, schedule conflicts, and assignment to appropriate staff for resolution. Manages prioritization procedures for changing scope [i.e., change management] and project acceptance procedures. Measures progress toward goals and revises project objectives and documents applying change control procedures. Assumes responsibility [as appropriate] for resolving issues and seeing work through to successful completion. Provides training to project managers and others on project related templates and toolsets. Develops methods to measure customer satisfaction and obtains feedback at critical milestones and at project completion to ensure project efforts meet customer expectations.
