Customer Engineering Manager Airbags


What you’ll do:
  • Leads a team of airbag applications engineers and ensures individual and team performance is aligned with ALV and customer expectations.
  • Ensure methods, processes, standards, and activities within the group, result in product and processes that meet internal, customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure team members engineering and project milestones are met on time.
  • Responsible for personnel development and training and ensures team members have the proper knowledge and skill to perform their roles.
  • Promotes Autoliv technology utilizing effective technical documentation and customer communication.
  • Works with the customer on joint development projects.
  • Helps to generate technical roadmaps that align with customer and ALV requirements.
  • Responsible for planning budgets and resources to achieve results in the most efficient manner.
  • Works with other ALV Divisions and customer teams to quote and develop airbag application projects.
  • Drive a culture of curiosity, continuous improvement and E2E thinking.
  • Maintains appropriate communications within area of responsibility. Keep employees informed as to company and/or department plans and progress.
  • Assure compliance of associates and team members to company policies and procedures. 

What is required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Master’s degree a plus
  • 5+ years of experience working with JOEMs
  • Fluent Japanese
  • Exposure to JOEM culture
  • Must be willing to travel 10%. Must be willing to work off hours as many meetings are with other time zones. Must be willing to deviate from hybrid schedules when needed in the office.
  • Previous leadership and managerial experience preferred
