Position Summary
The Data Literacy and Development analyst, under the leadership of the Data Shared Service Operation/Outreach & Data Literacy team, coordinates the effective use of data and analytic assets, services, and products for NewYork-Presbyterian, Weill Cornell Medicine, and Columbia to create transparent data metrics definition; provide users with the ability to understand, interpret, and derive meaningful insights from data; and help the organization make data more accessible across the enterprise. The analyst will collaborate proactively with internal and external analytics teams, operation stakeholders, and other IT departments to support data literacy initiatives, including in-person/video training sessions, Tip Sheets/Guides, Newsletters, and other training-related content.
Essential Job Duties
- Developing data literacy programs:
Design and implement in-person/online training courses, and workshops, tailored to different levels of operation users, covering data basics, data visualization, statistical concepts, and analytical tools.
- Creating educational content:
Develop clear and concise data literacy materials such as tipsheets, guides, and reference documents to translate complex data concepts in common language.
- Stakeholder engagement:
Collaborate with different departments and user groups to understand their data needs, identify key metrics, and tailor data literacy programs to address specific business challenges.
- Metrics and performance tracking:
Monitor the effectiveness of data literacy initiatives by measuring user engagement, data usage patterns, and the impact of data-driven decision-making.
- Communication and coaching:
Provide individual or team-based coaching on data interpretation, data analysis techniques, and best practices for leveraging data insights.
Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
This is a grant funded position for 4 years.
Requires 5 days occasional on-site presence; therefore, should live within a commutable distance. No relocation assistance available.
Preferred Criteria
- Master’s degree
Required Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proficiency with SQL, on either Microsoft or Oracle platforms
- Experience with Tableau or other visualization tools
- Minimum of 5 years’ combined data analytics and healthcare experience

Salary Range:
$85,500-$139,000/Annual
