Position Overview


The Director Technology & Operations ePMO is a senior member of the Enterprise Architecture & Strategy / Major Programs & ePMO team. The EAS team is responsible for technology strategic planning, internal consulting and establishing consistent and measurable processes related to work intake, execution, data quality, and financial performance on behalf of the CIO. The Director Technology & Operations ePMO reports into the VP of Major Programs & ePMO and is responsible for leading governance standards in Program/Project Management including oversight and ownership of Portfolio Management.

The aim of the role is to ensure the oversight, standardisation and best in class operation of the program and project delivery teams across Technology & Operations. The role will focus on building/maintaining a standards framework and ensuring adherence from the delivery teams. The role will also focus on portfolio management, commencing with a combined central intake process that delivers a robust workflow allowing leadership to centrally manage its investment portfolio and its strategic decision making. This to be coupled with ongoing accurate management of portfolio data and health, reporting on multiple metrics and KPIs. All of which to be delivered to exceptionally high standards.



The role will serve as the expert in building and in maintaining relationships both internally and externally to the department, manage expectations and communicate clearly procedures, standards and results at all levels.

The successful candidate should be versed in all project management methodologies and be able to lead a team of strong team to drive excellence in delivery, accountability and action across all business under the portfolio. The Director will contribute through experience and learnings towards process change and improvement, have a deep understanding of scoping and scope development, operational standards, budget management, fiscal stewardship, team building and leadership. This is a client facing role, often interfacing with the senior operations and project team members of our client.



Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction within T&O for intake, governance and planning within the central technology portfolio – ensuring that all divested portfolios are fully integrated into the T&O portfolio of funded activities.
  • Build and manage a network of stakeholder relationships within WBD and externally, including those in leadership positions.
  • Take the lead in design and implementation of a portfolio management framework for adoption across T&O. Provide center of excellence portfolio management office and program delivery methodologies, processes and tools for adoption across T&O.
  • Engage in the operational performance of all portfolios and major programs. Lead on defining OKRs for all portfolios, ensures governance against these

  • Lead the central technology intake process on behalf of the CIO. Partner closely with all portfolio teams and Finance on prioritization and approvals
  • Provide insight on the T&O portfolio about working in different contexts and settings
  • Leads post implementation review on major programs. Ensure lessons are captured and preventive actions are taken
  • Develop deep and trusted relationships with key partners and use the knowledge of their business processes and requirements to drive technology strategy and work prioritization
  • Operate strategically and tactically in a dynamic environment by developing a relevant, sustainable portfolio and aligning the right resources to the task.
  • Foresee and plan around obstacles and identify possible issues before they become issues.
  • Provide financial oversight in the development and tracking of budgets, including but not limited to reconciliation, reporting, and understanding of variances
  • Provide leadership across the organization in a broader operational capacity related to staff development and implementation of best practices.
  • Lead the development and performance of the team to ensure they remain high performing, credible and delivery orientated. Ensure stretching objectives and development are fully realized in agreed timeframes.
  • Responsible for the management of the multi-stranded complex budget which covers the broad range of program of work


Requirements:

  • BS degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • A minimum of 10 years of Technology industry work experience, with at least three years of leadership experience and 5 years developing program portfolio and PMOs.

  • Experience in technology enablement/execution on M&A

  • Experience representing the customer and being the champion and voice of customers by building impactful, personal relationships with customers, engineering teams, and service delivery teams.

  • Champion the business technology strategy vision so that all stakeholders are aligned, have context, and understand where the organization is going.

  • Strong computer skills: MS Office and project management tools

  • Ability to multi-task and handle on a proactive basis, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment to maximize time-management and efficiencies.

  • Serve as a cultural ambassador demonstrating through actions continuous learning, a positive outlook, a drive to make an impact and being accountable for results.

This is a hybrid role which requires reporting onsite to the Atlanta-Techwood office 3 times per week.
