The Director of Event Services and Outlets oversees all food and beverage outlets within the hotel operated by Hyatt which may include may include restaurants, lounges, coffee bars, or banquet facilities. Effectively and proactively monitor the daily functions of the Event Services Department and Food & Beverage Outlets. This includes providing support and guidance to the event services team and all Food & Beverage Outlets. It also includes working and communicating closely with all hotel departments to ensure a successful and effective event, resulting in a positive guest experience.
Duties Include:
- Responsible for short and long term planning and the management of the hotel outlet operations in the front and back of the house
- Develop and recommend the budget, concepts and objectives and manage within those approved plans
- Implement and maintain food & beverage sales/marketing programs
- Supervise, Empower, Lead, Coach, and Motivate the F&B team, including assistant manager(s), supervisors, captains and food servers, set up attendants, bartenders and Outlets teams towards achieving exceptional guest service results and complete associate engagement
- Hire, train, empower, coach and counsel, performance and salary reviews
- Direct the implementation of the payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory and budget for outlet operations
- Ability to assist the hotel in reaching top box service scores on our Meeting Planner surveys. Ensure thorough communication and understanding with guests and other departments by reviewing Events and Outlet Event Orders. Responsible for the appropriate and timely set up of all functions and meetings while maintaining standards of food and beverage and meeting specifications
- Responsible for proactively reviewing staffing and equipment needs
- Responsible for ensuring coordination and execution of all events with Culinary and Sales/Events including processing all events checks on a daily basis
- Responsible for short and long-term banquet functions in the front and back of the house
- Coordinate outlet operations with other hotel departments to ensure efficient guest service
- Resolve customer complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality
- Implement procedures to increase guest and employee satisfaction
- Exercise quality control for both food and beverage
- Maintain Hyatt standards of service and ensure their implementation
- Perform daily walk-through to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards
- Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures
- Ability to develop ideas for special events and holiday functions

The Director of Event Services and Outlets is an integral part of the hotel’s overall Food and Beverage team. Your colleagues will work with Director of Operations, Executive Chef, and Sales/Events Managers to ensure a successful Food and Beverage Team. Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people
- Full-Time Management Position that requires full flexibility, including the ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule
- 4 years or more of progressive hotel F&B management experience
- Previous experience as an Event Services Manager and F&B Outlets Manager are both required for this Senior Operations F&B Manager role
- Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
- Proven leadership skills
- Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset
- A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
- Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
Clear concise written and verbal communication skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
- Experience in implementing new food & beverage concepts
