About the Role & Program
The Disney Cruise Line (DCL) Environmental Affairs Team supports the Company’s objective of preserving and improving the environment using intelligent and conscientious business practices and active community outreach. Our team of engineers and environmental professionals provides professional direction, leadership, and direct services to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements and to promote long-term, environmentally responsible operations.
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Orlando, FL area from June 2025-January 2026.
What You Will Do
- Work with DCL Environmental Affairs teams to become familiar with various maritime regulations and support our companies’ vessels and islands operating throughout the world.
- Work on various data gathering and consolidation projects such as – Pollution incident and near miss analysis, Annual Vessel General Permit (VGP) reports, and Waste Characterization Gap Analysis.
- Support the daily vessel and island operations with items such as – waste and hazardous waste offload requests, Chemical management, and Invoicing.
- Review of the DCL Environmental Safety Management System (SMS) policies and forms for verification and updating to ever-changing regulations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Desire to pursue a career in the Maritime environmental operations, compliance, or policy fields.
- Basic knowledge of environmental programs such as hazardous waste, solid waste, wastewater, etc. either by coursework and/or previous co-op/intern work experience.
- A working-level understanding of environmental requirements.
- Technical writing skills to complete various reports and operating guides.
- Experience with data gathering and data management.
- Demonstrated/proven strong leadership, technical and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with proven initiative – able to balance multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Available to work various shifts and travel as required by project needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- A fundamental understanding of Maritime regulations such as MARPOL & US EPA VGP.
Education
- Junior or Senior year preferred.
- Major or previous coursework in Marine Science and Safety, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or other related major preferred.
Required Materials
- Candidates must submit a one-page summary of a current maritime policy as part of their application.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization.
Additional Information
- Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
- Fully available Sunday through Saturday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week.
- Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando, FL area.
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
- Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.

The pay rate for this role in Orlando, FL is $30.00 per hour.
