Job Description

The Electrical ESTIMATOR will assist the team in all aspects biding:

· Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities.


· Prepares construction budget by studying plans; updating specifications; reviewing bids; identifying costs and gaining a deep understanding of the project requirements.

· Review of architectural and engineering drawings for completeness


· Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by reviewing materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating subcontractor’s cost estimates.

· Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.


· Visit sites, warehouses and other venues necessary to do the estimate

· Maintain RFI log and bid contact log for projects.


· Create and present reports to upper management

· Documents and communicates actions, irregularities, prior to handing over completed bids.


· Build and maintain long-term relationships with the key vendors

· Ensuring compliance with construction standards and selections


· Ability to communicate/direct effectively with clients and subcontractors

· Ability to review plans and coordinate with consultants for code compliance and completeness


· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

· Maintains quality service by following organization standards.


· Create and manage project files.

· Manage & update inline project management system


· Contributes to team effort by assisting Project Managers as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess:


· AA or BA from an accredited university within the construction or engineering concentrations strongly preferred

· Previous working experience as construction estimator for 3-5 years


· 3-5 years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with an interior’s commercial general contractor

· Ability to master project-specific software systems including but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite (ex.

Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), Procore, and Builder Trend.



· Good time-management skills

· Must be able to Type


· Ability to multi-task and work independently or as a team member

· Must be proficient in internet search techniques and online research.


· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Critical-thinker and problem-solver


· Excellent negotiation skills

As this is an immediate need, local candidates are strongly preferred and will be given first consideration. The ability to work in the United States immediately is required.
